disadvantages of vacuum distillation
1、additional captical and operating cost of vacuum pump and control system;
2、possible introduction of air leaks and subsequent explosion hazad when using flammable solvents;
3、inverse relationship between deltaHvap and temperature requies greater enery input at lower temperature;
4、greater foaming problems;
5、lower vapor density means lower mass transfer rate and theoretically longer distillation times
