Mechanism of Insect Repellent FilmInsect repelling window films are engineered to exploit the fact that insects and humans have a different range of sensitivity to wavelengths of light. The film cuts and controls light in the specific wavelength range of insects. This prevents the attraction of insects without any effects on humans.

By applying the window film to glazing the attraction rate is inhibited by approximately 80%; insect related damage and contamination issues are therefore minimized or eliminated. No toxic substances are used during production so there is no risk to human health or the natural environment upon application. Additional benefits of UV blocking, thermal insulation and energy savings are also included within the film specification. Examples of current uses include hospitals, food preparation facilities, pharmaceutical manufacturing and retail shops.
